What is the difference between marriage counseling and what you do?
The biggest difference is the formal education and degrees that a therapist or counselor has as a basis to help people. All of our coaches have been trained in many relationship education programs and have their own personal experiences to share from. Since all of our coaches are volunteers, they are servants to those struggling. Coaching involves listening for the issues and offering wisdom and skills. We are trained to share hope with those in need. We can also connect you to a licensed therapist, if that is what you prefer.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, because we are not accredited, we are unable to accept any insurance. However, the cost of our sessions is often comparable to or less than your deductible, depending on your plan. Check with your healthcare provider to find out.
How much does a coaching session cost?
A 90-minute session with a coaching couple is valued at $85.
What if I can’t afford the cost of a session or workshop?
Financial assistance is available for those in need. Please do not let finances be the reason that you choose not to come in. Please contact us.
What is the difference between crisis marriage coaching and marriage coaching?
Crisis Coaching is for couples on the brink of divorce, often dealing with severe issues such as infidelity. These couples are usually, although not exclusively, coached by Don and Angie Power. Marriage Coaching is for people who simply want a better, healthier marriage and to improve upon skills like communication.
Is this a religious organization?
We are a 501(c)(3) educational facility and welcome all faiths or no faith. Although we are Christian based, our commitment is to love and help you regardless of your faith or beliefs.

What is your Relationship with live the life?
Marriage & Family Works and Live The Life have developed a strategic relationship, expanding our reach to help marriages in all areas. Don and Angie know that Live The Life has the knowledge and leadership to create a statewide marriage initiative. They both sit proudly on the board for Live The Life and have decided to partner with them in many ways. We are considering in time to operate just under one name so not to confuse anyone. The bottom line is that Don and Angie want to bring a bigger and more professional movement to our communities and believe Live The Life is capable and willing to help the masses in our region through programs and events. They have lowered the divorce rate by 27% in Jacksonville over the last 24 months with programs, education and awareness.
